Dear Friends,

When Jennifer and I started The Picture Palace in 1994 there were no more than a handful of stores opening on the web.  Our goal was to offer rare, eclectic, and hard to find videos through the Internet.  All in all I think we did a good job.  Times change and as VHS phased out and DVD came in many of the vendors we used could not afford to move to the new media.  When recordable DVD's came around compatibility was an issue with early DVD players and many of our vendors closed up shop.  Over the past few years it has been harder and harder to really get many of the most popular titles we carried.  And now things are moving ever faster to the Digital Domain and the costs are just to high for us to move there at The Picture Palace.

So it is time to pack it in.  It has been a fun and interesting ride, but the time has come to move on.  Be assured that any information we have on our customer will NEVER be shared or sold.  It will be stored for the appropriate legal time it needs to be stored and then destroyed.  We will not charge any credit card for orders not shipped and all checks in our possession will be destroyed.  If I run across any Money Orders or the like I will return them to sender.

I have been trying to avoid this moment for a long time, but I see that I keep getting orders I cannot fill, email I do not have the time to answer, bills to pay for the website, credit card company (use it or not), and the bank.  So there is no sense in just keeping the site up gathering dust so to speak.  I will keep this note up for a few months and keep the email account open, but will not longer take orders.  As soon as I can have the ISP take down the WebPages and there are a few thousand pages they will be gone and only the home page will remain.  

I wish to thank all the patrons we have had over the years and the many collectors we have met.  I hope all have a Happy Holiday Season and a Happy New Year.
