Hollywood Noir in Volumes - These may have been seen before, but they are better now as bargains (at $19.99 each) and as the products of new masters from archival-quality negatives! Vol. 2 is Ulmer's signature piece Detour, restored from the original 35mm nitrate masters and including original "coming attractions" trailers; Vol. 3 is a "truly forgotten noir" called Impact; Vol. 5 is Quicksand, with Mickey Rooney falling hard for Jeanne Cagney; Vol. 6 is The Second Woman (1950) AKA Ellen, played by Betsy Drake as a young lady in love with - and in fear of - Robert Young; Vol. 7 is DOA with Edmond O'Brien, from the producer's negative; Vol. 19 is Not Wanted, produced by Ida Lupino.

From Kino:
The Dark Side of Hollywood continues by 4/14/98: Railroaded! (1946) is a low-budget Tony Mann with John Ireland and the beleagered hero and Hangmen Also Die (1942) is Fritz Lang's take on Brecht's vision of WWII. They will be $24.99 apiece...
