We get a lot of requests here at The Picture Palace. Everything is pretty much automatic when it comes to returning an answer. However if the e-mail address is wrong, the answer just comes back to us; or if the mail server is on the fritz it gets bounced into a loop, or who knows what else.
So, here is a collection of returned mail and the answers, for you to check out in case you haven't heard back from us. The easiest thing to do would be to use the Edit/Find option in your browser, and type in a word or two for a page search.
Remember, though, the most up-to-date product listings will always be in our databases, so please check them first - or subscribe to our email alert list at the bottom of our contest page!
This goes in reverse chronological order: Info at the top of each page supercedes anything lower down. We now have the newest items on this page, and other pages for 1995/6 and 1996/7.

12:05 AM 6/21/97:
>I would like to know what CLV means when it
>is on the end of the title eg. Hot Pursuit/CLV...
CLV or CAV next to a title indicates a laser disc.

06:29 PM 6/19/97:
>I have been searching for years for a copy of the l933
>Paramount picture of Alice.
This is a very famous old studio picture and has never been released. Paramount just isn't on the ball the way Uni and Fox are. Blame Viacom.

02:53 PM 6/15/97:
>Where can i get Orlando (movie) stuff (t-shirts, posters,
>ect.)???
Ask the person who reproduced a couple posters on the Tilda Swinton page.

07:54 PM 5/28/97
>I have been searching for a laser disc version of the movie,
>River's Edge.
I believe this title has been off the market for awhile and the laser disc is not listed in our most current directory.

07:23 AM 5/1/97:
>I need information about movies in CD.
Sorry, we sell CD-ROMs, LDs, DVDs and videotapes but no CDs, even those "expanded CDs" will not necessarily play in your machine or computer anyway.

11:58 PM 4/28/97:
>NEED TO FIND INFORMATION ON THE FILMS EASY RIDER AND
>SINGING IN THE RAIN
These are two very different films! The most recent news on the folks involved in Easy Rider concerns one of the stars suing the other over money supposedly borrowed to make the film. I just can't remember if it was Nicholson and Fonda, Fonda and Hopper or Hopper and Nicholson. You might try looking up the title or stars in the periodicals index in a public library. The most recent work I know of on SITR is a neat little book by Peter Wollen: ISBN 0-85170-351-8. Good luck!

09:29 PM 4/26/97 -0400:
>title1 -> Born Loser
>director1 -> the guy who played Billy Jack
This was on tape but is not currently in release.

02:11 PM 4/21/97:
>I´m looking for the adress, or telephon number of mr Rick
>Baker the mk/up/fx designer
Sorry, we know folks who have published inteviews with him or put out tapes made by folks who interviewed him. However this is once or twice removed. We have no direct contact info for him personally. Good luck though!

06:39 PM 4/13/97:
>Flatliners
This should still be available for $9.99.

11:24 AM 4/12/97:
>I'm looking for a movie Called Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry
This is not currently in release.

Dear Mr. Ruz;
Thank you for faxing. We did not get your email. Sorry, but we are a US retail business only. We cannot provide posters and films in PAL to distributors. We don't know where you are exactly but importing large numbers of tapes in such a manner is something we do not know very well, legally speaking. Good luck, however, in your search.

08:46 AM 4/8/97:
>I would be most appreciative if could tell me if
>you have available for sale an early film titled
>Always in My Heart released by Warner Brothers
>in 1942.
This Walter Huston movie is not currently in release. We have reason to believe the title has never been put out on tape.

06:28 PM 4/8/97:
>Do you know when Evita will be available to purchase?
Sorry, we have not heard any announcements yet. [It will be an August '97 rental release.]

11:21 AM 4/6/97:
>I liked tour build a bit page but I am confused by the hollow
>tube thing and I didn't know what to expect.
Don't worry, you're not the only one! Most visitors expect the form to cough up something for them, but we put it there to prove machines can't be funny. They can win at chess but they can't be funny! The hollow tube references are to an Ernie Kovacs sketch. That's the whole sequence, then he says at the end "All three tubes are hollow, thank you!"
>I was looking for a Red Skelton Jokes page at the time. Do you know of one? So far I have
>found only paintings and videos.
Remember, Red (and I grew up on his show!) did situational clowning. He didn't come out and do one-liners. Even his throwaway gags were usually in reference to something that just happened, like a guest who was just on or a prop that didn't work. So you can't take what he did out of context. Of course, if you find anything I'll link to it! It's really hard to find anything nowadays.

10:58 AM 4/3/97:
>title1 -> Small Faces
>anything else1a -> This movie is recent
This is either out or coming soon but it will be priced for the rental market (near $100) for the foreseeable future.
>title2 -> Bronco Bullfrog
>Actor2a -> Sam sheppard
>anything else2a -> British film
>title3 -> Slade in Flame
>Actor3a -> The band Slade
Neither of these seem to have been released. We carry no Slade videos at all, actually, right now.

08:24 PM 3/26/97:
>title1 -> Day at the Beach
>Actor1a -> Patrick Fitzgerald
>anything else1a -> released around 1995
>anything else1b -> Ifo please! Can't find anywhere!!!
All we can find under this title amounts to two kidvid tapes and a short subject made in 1971. I also can't find it listed as a film release. Perhaps it was not put out in the US, or not under that name? Sorry to be so inconclusive.

08:12 PM 3/25/97:
>Is the Les Miserables (Broadway cast) a full length
>production, or is it something else? I am interested in finding
>a video of the musical.
The $24.99 tape is the 10th Anniversary concert in London featuring 17 international casts singing in their respective languages. There was also a doc called Stage By Stage on Polygram apparently out of circulation. It's too successful a property, so it may go the way of Chorus Line, which only got made into a film near the time the show stopped running on B'way.

05:28 AM 3/23/97:
>Snowfire, a 1958 color western
Can't get a lead on this, and it doesn't ring a bell. Was it a B picture or a serial? Can you remember anyone in it? Some studio may still be sitting on it.
>If I Had A Million, a com/drama from 1932
This has not been put out on video.
>Sweet Rosey O'Grady, mus?, 19??
The one with Betty Grable in 1943 has not been released.

11:47 PM 3/21/97:
>title1 -> bunny o'hare
>Actor1a -> ernest borgnine
>Actor1b -> bette davis
>Actor1c -> john astin
This is not currently in release. We have reason to believe the title has never been put out on tape.

12:48 PM 3/20/97:
>title1 -> DAVE
$19.99
>title2 -> All The Presidents Men
$19.99
>title3 -> Caddy Shack
$14.99
>title4 -> Mighty Quinn
$9.99
>title5 -> Where Eagles Dare
$14.99

06:39 PM 3/17/97:
>title1 -> The Last of the Mohicans
>Actor1a -> Randolf Scott
We list this from Anchor Bay for $9.99.
