Dr. Carl C. Jung or Lapis Philosophorum
(1950-1991) The footage for this was originally supplied by Jerome Hill, who had tried to film a documentary on C. C. Jung with mysteriously little success. After the Archives inherited the backlog upon the death of Hill in 1972, the filmmaker's close friend Mekas attempted a final edit of the raw material. Mekas was aided by Buffie Johnson, the author of Lady of the Beasts: Ancient Images of the Goddess and the Sacred Animals and a friend of both Hill and Jung. Emma Jung also appears in this study of the daily life of an influential 20th Century intellect.
29 min., $75.00
Guns of the Trees
(1962) Sheldon Rochlin and Jonas' brother Adolfas assisted the editing, music provided by Lucia Dlugoszewski, the Wileys and Tom Sankey, and poetry is written and spoken by Ginsberg.

He Stands in a Desert Counting the Seconds of His Life

124 min., $100.00
In Between
(1964-1978) Footage shot during the hiatus separating Lost, Lost, Lost from Walden finds a home. Mel Lyman, Salvador Dali, Allen Ginsberg, Norman Mailer and Jane Holzer rub shoulders, at least cinematically.
52 min., with banjo and found music, $75.00
Lost, Lost, Lost
(1949-1963) Six reels worth of filmed diaries, beginning with Mekas' postwar arrival in the States. Portrait of the Artist as a Displaced Person in Brooklyn: with Lithuanian ghettos, Leroi Jones at the Living Theatre, Robert Frank shooting Sin of Jesus.
178 min., $100.00
Notes for Jerome
(1966-1978) Visits to Cassis before and after the death of Jerome Hill. (Look for Noel Burch, film students!)
45 min., with improvised piano, folksong and natural sound tracks, $75.00
Oona's Third Year or Paradise Not Yet Lost
(1977-1979) Material from the third year of life for Oona Mekas, the director's daughter. A visit is paid to Maya Deren's mom, Marie; there are also side trips to Sweden and Lithuania, Austria and Italy. Made to provide Oona with "a romantic's guide to the essential values of life -- in a world of artificiality, commericialism, and bodily and spiritual poison."
96 1/2 min., $75.00
Reminiscences of a Journey to Lithuania
(1971-1972) This compilation includes Bolex footage from the 50s, and later material shot in the director's hometown of Semeniskiai during a reunion 25 years later. A trip to Vienna is prefaced by "a parenthesis" in Elmshorn, Germany, the site of Mekas' WWII experience in a forced labor camp.
82 min., $75.00
Scenes from the Life of Andy Warhol
(1965-1991) The Velvet Underground and Nico to begin; the Warhol memorial Mass as finale. In between: Montauk, The Factory, Psychiatrist's Convention, and back to Montauk. Everyone from Morrissey (not that one, the 60s version) and Edie (not that one, the 60s version) to John-and-Yoko drop in.
38 min., beats by VU, $75.00
Walden
(1964-69) Ten frames, ten seconds, ten minutes here and there make the filmic equivalent of a journal. Instead of reflecting at the end of the day you must react to life as it happens. "...it has to register my state of feeling (and all the memories) as I react." Four chronological reels are accompanied by a mixed "found" soundtrack of atmospheric noises. "I make home movies -- therefore I live. I live -- therefore I make home movies," says Mekas.
180 min., $100.00
Zefiro Torna or Scenes from the Life of George Maciunas
(1952-1992) George Maciunas, his homelife and his Fluxus events are colored by the director's narration, taken from Maciunas' own diaries.
35 min., with music, $75.00
