Russ Meyer's Phantom Philmography Contest

Our winner will rock through '98 with a CD sountrack from Russ Meyer!

We have posted the results for Round Two, like we did for the September entries!

Here are the rules:

Round one of Russ Meyer's Phantom Philmography contest officially ends midnight Eastern (NJ, USA) time on Tuesday, September 30, 1997. Round two of Russ Meyer's Phantom Philmography contest officially ends midnight Eastern (NJ, USA) time on Tuesday, December 30, 1997. These are the final deadlines for the respective rounds and will not be moved. Each round will have its own winner. Judging will not be cumulative and the winner of the first round will be disqualified from the second. The best entry for each round will be judged by the Webmasters of The Picture Palace (AKA PicPal), whose decision may be imperfect but will be authoritative and final. One prize consisting of one CD soundtrack from the Russ Meyer collection will be awarded to the person whose name and email address are valid and identified as the source of the winning submission for each round. The specific soundtrack CD will be determined upon choosing the winner of the respective round. The winner of each round will be required to specify a legitimate delivery address. Entries can either be made via the online form at URL:/rmform.html or by email via our online form at URL:/email.html or to picpal@picpal.com with Russ Meyer's Phantom Philmography as the subject heading. Entries will be considered in terms of clarity, completeness and originality. This is not a writing award, but we would appreciate complete sentences and some proofreading. The aim is to pick a movie of any kind ever made that would have been better if directed by Russ Meyer. If an obscure film is picked, or one easily confused with another of the same (or nearly the same) title, it should be specifically identified. Both the two fields for name and email address must be filled out correctly. Both the two fields for choice of title and defense/clarification of choice must be filled out, but there is no minimum or maximum of words. Entrants can file more than one entry for the first round. All entrants except the winner of the first round can file more than one entry for the second round. Any submission that overloads the server or cannot be processed by the cgi script will be disqualified. Your entry will be confirmed in two steps: first by email from picpal@picpal.com and second by posting at URL:/rmform.html. If you have any reservation or if you believe your entry or entries were not properly confirmed, please submit via our online form at URL:/email.html or to picpal@picpal.com before the respective deadlines of the round you have entered. Making sure an entry is recorded and posted before the respective deadline of a respective round is the entrant's responsibility. A last check will be made of all official entries for the first round after midnight, September 30th and the decision made and posted as soon as possible afterwards. A last check will be made of all official entries for the second round after midnight, December 30th and the decision made and posted as soon as possible afterwards. The Picture Palace is not responsible for blank, incomplete, misdirected submissions, or entries not received or inaccessible due to human error, conditions on the Internet, acts of God or online service providers. The Picture Palace is not responsible for entries that cannot be confirmed by email due to server incompatibility or inaccessibility. "Bounced" confirmations will not be resent and unconfirmed entries will not be posted. Illegible (garbled) or incomplete email and forms will be disqualified. Executable and macro attach files will disqualify any entry. Submitting an entry by online form or email constitutes granting permission to PicPal to post the supplied essay indefinitely. All other rights will be retained by the respective authors. Entrants agree to accept sole responsibility for following international copyright law and other intellectual property rights attendant to communications on the Internet regarding quotation of material by other artists. The prizes are guaranteed to be awarded. The winner of each round will be notified by return email. There will be no cash substitutions for the prizes listed. Acceptance of the prize for each round will constitute permission (except where prohibited) to use the respective winner's name and/or statements for publicity purposes without further compensation. Odds of winning each round are determined by the number of qualified, eligible entries received by the deadline dates. This contest is open to anyone worldwide of age eighteen and over. Employees and their immediate families connected with the producers, distributors and promoters of RM International films and videos are ineligible. All international, federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law. The winner of the first round will be posted at URL:/ in early October, 1997. The winner of the second round will be posted at URL:/ in early January, 1998. Entrants agree that sponsors and judges of this promotion shall not be liable for losses of any kind resulting from entering PicPal's Russ Meyer's Phantom Philmography Contest or from acceptance and/or use of the prize or parts thereof.

Fans wrote Russ to tell him about their own tribute pages: Jeff's in-depth analysis, Larry's review of UP! or the Valley of the Dolls Tribute for instance!
